Join VATA at Food Trucks FOSTERING Change, Sunday August 4th from 11am to 2pm at the Hermitage Museum and Gardens in Norfolk!
The Virginia Art Therapy Association has been invited to participate in this community event organized by The Barry Robinson Center Therapeutic Foster Care Program. The event is free and open to the public with 10% of food truck sales benefiting the Therapeutic Foster Care Program. The goal of this event is to share information with the community on the importance of finding good foster homes for children who are in need, and get families connected to neighbors and support resources in their community. There will be multiple local food trucks, live music, and art making opportunities for families. The Hermitage will also be opening portions of the museum for visitors.
VATA will be hosting a resource table and facilitating art making during the event, this Sunday August 4th. Art making for families will focus on the concept of “Fostering Change” while educating families about how to promote communication through art and how to sensitively respond to children’s artwork.
This is a family friendly event, so bring your family and friends out to support this great cause. We hope to see you there!
